"brains & bodies" goes back to Winter 2015 when fellow musician friend and inspiration, Joshua Marcus and I said - hey lets make something together (Joshua chiming in here "I'm just an incredible fan of Chenda- as a friend, musician, and artist- her work is deeply heartening and makes me feel more in touch with life. I have so much love and respect for Chenda and her work"). Anyway....We tried being musical penpals and practicing together over Skype but turns out the timing delay wasn't exactly the kind of experimental we were looking for. So we got together this past spring for three days and wrote a batch of songs through a combination of prompts and exercises, sending lyrics back and forth, choosing instruments at random, using each other's chord progressions... The songs from this adventure plus a few of our own hits(!) make up the set list of "brains & bodies" that we then toured for a week in May. That tour ended with a quick recording session. And finally, here they are, to share.

It was a really fun process for us, challenging, vulnerable and also just exciting to be pushed in different ways of writing and figure out how to combine and mix our styles into something that ends up sounding familiar, but also a little different. So, here it is, "brains & bodies". You can download it from either of our bandcamp pages, or just listen to it online.
